![]() Beginning Studies in the Altissimo Register
(Rosemary Lang, edited and revised by Gail B. Levinsky) Long out of print, I revised and updated (content and fingerings) the Lang method. Content includes instruction of sound production both as Professor Lang instructed as well as modern methodology. Each unit in the book is clear and to the point, focusing on a specific altissimo note with a series of exercises followed by simple melodies that incorporate the new note. The book progresses in this way chromatically from high F# (F#6) up to F (F7). The book's purpose is to teach the altissimo register quickly and efficiently, and by utilizing well-know melodies in a way that a student can utilized intervalic relationships to hear the higher pitches. Additionally, the method includes major and minor scales, interval studies, and a set of chromatic exercises covering all 12 tones. ORDER FROM HICKEY'S MUSIC |
